Ethiopia is believed to have one of the world’s highest rates of blindness and very low vision issues.  The DOC-B program has been running for many years supporting children who are blind or have severe vision impairment to also assisting children of blind adults to be able to attend school.

Children in the program in Jimma have been supported through their schooling either remaining in the community with additional assistance or have been given the opportunity to board with the Sisters of Charity in their school for the blind in Shashemene, Ethiopia where they are taught Braille.
