The Bonga Women's Development Program was set up to assist the local women in the poorest area of Bonga. Many of these women are single parents with near to no income.
The program aims to provide women with the skills needed to start their own businesses and earn their own income.
A special purpose building for Cooking and Food Preparation has been erected and a hairdressing salon has been set up. A proposed project is to renovate another building on site and convert it into a B & B for visitors.
